On November 14th CT Public hosted a live panel at Quinnipiac University to explore the issues facing women in our state and nationwide with 'Disrupted' host Khalilah Brown-Dean.
This event coincided with the release of a new data report "Elusive Equity: Continuing Effects of the Pandemic on Women’s Economic Security," created by CT Data Collaborative, funded by the Aurora Women and Girls Foundation and The Community Fund for Women and Girls of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.
At the event, Disrupted host Dr. Khalilah Brown-Dean talked to Jenny Steadman and Michelle Riordan-Nold, Executive Director of CT Data Collaborative, about the latest data. Panelists were asked to speak about the economic inequities faced by women, especially women of color, since the start of the pandemic. They focused on childcare, housing, and economic mobility and looked at the data and what we can do to make a change.
This research was funded by the Aurora Women and Girls Foundation, the William and Alice Mortensen Foundation,
the Richard P. Garmany Fund at Hartford Foundation for Public Giving in memory of Lydia Garmany and
The Community Fund for Women and Girls of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.
